hey; Edge here,

just wanted to give a huge shout out to tempest and pedro for their work on BFBC2. after a week or so of teamspeak3 we got everything figured out with the random crashes and packet 9005 error. RAGEKINGS WOOT! @.@ ok so the hack is totally sweet, i checked up on some configurations on the forums and tweaked it out to play totally kickin'. I'm getting around 500-1000 pts per round and with like a 3/4 kill/death ratio. Noone is going to call you out for cheating or nothing, like RageKing-Colt said "theres not much the other player can do," take it punkbuster take it hard!!!

****so if anyone is wondering about how to fix a packet 9005 error its quite simple***

deletion of punkbuster and bfbc2 configs
1)delete the manual installation files for punkbuster "pbgame" and "pbuser" (*i have them on my desktop for quick reference)
2)then go into your documents file and delete the BFBC2 folder.
3)in your "c:/user/appdata/local" (*this is a hidden folder) delete the punkbuster folder.
4)make sure steam or orgin is not running

regen of PB and BFBC2 files
5)manually update your punkbuster using the websites pbsetup.exe file.
6)REBOOT.
7)make sure steam or origin is not running
8)run "rageking loader" on either 500 or 15000 and
9)then launch bfbc2. it will crash but you will have a new folder called "bfbc2" in your documents
10)enter the "settings" file in c:/user/documents/bfbc2 and change the dxversion to "9"

entering game
11)run ragekings loader again and wait for "start your game"
12)start bfbc2
13)rage!!!

this seems like a lot to do, but its totally worth the lil bit of tech support

a couple quick notes, your settings for ragekings doesnt change so you can enter a game quickly and not have to monkey with the settings. you can run this on any resolution after the regen (*i run my laptop on 1600x900 60hrz). Your favorite servers or history will not be there so just remember what servers youve been going to and most importantly HAVE FUN!

Since I got my game working , I have to play in window mode, meaning I got this window bar top of my screen when I play. Annoying to say the least. In the settings file , "fullscreen=false" . If I set this to
"Fullscreen=true" then I get a punkbuster error .. Are you playing bc2 like that ?

Can I once again play bc2 in fullscreen mode with out being kicked lol ? seems silly to me

Glad to hear you got your hacks all working. I know how frustrating it can be. But with good VIP support you usually dont have to wait that long. And kudos on putting the fix in the thread for future users.
